We know there are continuing problems with staffing. As of the meeting last month with management, incentives and contracts were to be continued (except for double SIP). Agency nurses are also being utilized throughout the hospital system.
Our local held an education dinner at the start of this month to kickoff nurses’ week. Members earned 2 contact hours while they learned about violence prevention in healthcare.
There was a lot of discussion about staffing and incentives. Please make sure that your management and the staffing office have your current phone number. This is how they are to be communicating any open shifts with incentives.

The winter holidays are quickly approaching, and we wanted to outline our contract language as it pertains to requirements, scheduling and cancelling on a holiday.

We held membership meetings yesterday and nurses voted overwhelmingly to ratify our new contract. This contract reflects the dedication and hard work of our nursing staff.
