Rhonda Hofstrom, an 18-year employee of UMC-Pitman and outspoken Union leader was terminated this week on flimsy evidence on Thursday.
A Busy Year For Our Union! January 1 marks just thirteen months until our Union Contract Expires! That means we will be in negotiations even sooner. Contract negotiations are our best opportunity to bargain for better pay, benefits, and staffing.

The Occupational Liability Insurance Plan (the Plan) provides AFT members broad protection for legal defense costs and court judgements.
We understand that management has decided to change the existing insurance plan to another plan, without giving the union the necessary and relevant information to review the new plan and see if it is comparable to the existing plan.
We met with management today; it was the final day of negotiations, and we pushed them as far as we could for the benefit of our members. A summary of the agreement will be supplied shortly.

Today (10/24), management brought in their benefits specialists to discuss the benefits for 2025.
We met with management and gave our economic proposals for fair and competitive wages. We discussed inflation, cost of living increases, the shortage of nurses and the need to be competitive in order to recruit and retain nurses.
