The American Arbitration Association (AAA) has completed the tally of ballots and certified the results of the Local 5094 Officer and Representative Election consistent with the HPAE local election rules.
The election has begun for HPAE Local 5094 Officers and Representatives. The election is being conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Ballots were mailed to all members in good standing on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

University Hospital, New Jersey’s only public acute-care hospital, needs a strong and vocal champion, advocates say, especially given ongoing reconstruction at its Newark campus and the potential for massive federal funding cuts to health care programs.
HPAE Local 5094 professional members have ratified a new three-year contract with University Hospital in Newark, which includes new benefits, improved language for existing benefits as well as wage increases to bring lower-paid workers to some level of parity.
On December 9, 2024, we met with University Hospital management to continue negotiating over our contract and we are pleased to announce that we have settled!
On December 2, 2024, we met with management for a long, frustrating negotiations session. Although we are making progress we have received disappointing responses from management.
