The end of the year is here, and what a year it has been! We continue to be so proud of all our members and the success we had in negotiations this year.
Last Night (12/18/25), your Union Negotiations Team met with management for our last session of 2025. We had productive discussions and came to six tentative agreements...
Please fill it out so that your local bargaining committee knows what is most important to you in this upcoming fight. The results will inform the proposals that we put forth in negotiations.
As you know, the Red Cross is seeking a reduction in the workforce, and has been discussing potential layoffs.
HPAE Members from all three communities joined the bargaining session to encourage UMC to provide substantial counterproposals on our key non-financial proposals.
Management has still not engaged with us on our key non-economic proposals (Layoff Protections, No Forced Shift Changes, No Non-RN Duties, etc) and is instead proposing to ADD to the list of reasons you can be disciplined or fired.
The term of office begins January 1, 2026, and ends December 31, 2027. Congratulations to all those elected and thank you to every candidate for your commitment to serving Local 5097.

It's been a big year for our union! Together, we've fought off management deleting our PTO, won countless grievances, took a historic strike vote, and won one of the strongest Contracts in New Jersey!
Prior to the holiday, your union leadership met with hospital administration regarding our insurance benefits for the new year. Despite our binding contract, the administration is requesting to open it up to negotiate a new insurance plan.
