HPAE 5094 Contract Survey: We Need your Voice
As contract negotiations begin this year, it is critical that we hear directly from you. The Rutgers Contract Survey is how members’ real experiences and concerns are documented and used to set bargaining priorities.
Completing the survey ensures your issues are counted and can be acted on.
The survey takes only a few minutes and is for members only.

Why this survey matters right now
Your responses help us identify patterns across departments and units so we can enforce the current contract and negotiate stronger protections in the next one. Here are some specific issues the survey is helping us address:
Holiday / Comp Time Issues (January 2)
Some units were granted holiday time on January 2, while others were required to work. Our Grievance Chair, Mayra, is filing a class-action grievance. Members who were denied holiday or comp/floating time must be identified for this grievance to move forward.
FlexWork Arrangements
There have been several mis-communications about FlexWork: from changing business hours to 8:30-5pm, to not allowing most staff to work remotely on both Monday and Friday remote work for employees eligible, and even not allowing two consecutive days of remote work or forcing staff to make up days off that fall on scheduled in-person days. Identifying which units are affected helps us challenge the inconsistent application of FlexWork and negotiate clearer protections. Members classified as “clinical” who are being told FlexWork is automatically denied are encouraged to submit their request through the portal and obtain an official denial so it can be grieved. There also has been departments whom were given a remote day during the snowstorm but were told they are ineligible for FlexWork. We need to identify your department here.
In solidarity,
