Local 5186 January 2026 Union Update and Survey

Our Union has filed have filed several grievances against Management’s violations of our Contract over the last few months, including:

  • Timing of Layoffs
  • Closure Of Units
  • Severance (Both timing and amount)
  • 401(k)
  • ED Staffing

Management has failed to respond to these grievances in writing. We expect these cases to be heard in Arbitration over the next few months.

Our Union has also filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board over Management’s unlawful actions, including their bad-faith bargaining and failure to provide any information.

Our Union has retained multiple attorneys who are experts in relevant areas of employment law and is taking action to make sure everyone gets what they are owed.

Our Union leaders have been working with local and state political leaders to protect our hospital and healthcare in the Heights.
